Racing Age:

Solar Nation (Dark Bay gelding by Alternation out of the Street Cry mare Heat Exposure) CALIFORNIA BRED

Feb 25th, 2017

$5,000 (Price will raise once back in training)

Solar Nation's Dam Heat Exposure is out of champion race mare Xtra Heat who has also produced multiple stakes winners and Xtra Heat has produced 5 foals to run out over $100,000.  Heat Exposure has two foals to race and both are multiple winners that are still on the track.  Alternation is the sire of the 2019 Kentucky Oaks winner.  This is a big pretty gelding that will be a very nice addition to the Cal bred program.  UPDATE: Solar Nation showed a ton of ability before his first start posting several bullet works and acting like he'd be a MSW horse.  Unfortunately he came out of the race with a slight tear on the outside edge of the tendon.  Vet said 4-6 months off.  It has now been 8 months on the farm and we have every intention of giving him a full 10 months (return to the track end of July) just because we believe tendons take time to come back good.  He is being offered at this low price only while laid up once he returns to training his price will go up.

Cal Bred 2 Year Olds:

Hot Box

2018 Cal Bred colt By Heat Shield

Hot Box is a good looking son of Heat Shield with a great female side that is fast.  Hot Box won at second asking in Del Mar on July 25th 2020.  He went gate to wire and was very professional.  His dam is a daughter of Street Cry out of the Champion mare Xtra Heat.  Click on his photo to be directed to his pedigree.  Click below to see a replay of his race.

The following 2 year olds are broke and just came into the track and are currently located in Del Mar.  Click on the link to be directed to their pedigrees.  Prices will go up once they start getting fit at the track.

Cal Bred Yearlings:

Take Back Spring 19' Filly

This sweet filly was a late foal out of the stakes placed Spring at Last mare Take Back Spring by Heat Shield.  This filly looks like she will be fast.  She has been handled and leads and ties well.  Take Back Spring is out of stakes winning mare Repo and is a half sister to stakes winner of over 450K Ann Arbor Eddie.  This filly is currently on pasture in New Mexico.

Chaleur if a good looking filly out of the Street Cry mare Heat Exposure who is out of the Champion mare Xtra Heat.  She was foaled on 3/28/19.  This filly has a big hip on her and should be fast early like her brother Hot Box who is a 2 year old in training at Santa Anita getting ready to make his first start.  Chaleur is currently on pasture in New Mexico.

Speed Demon

Speed Demon is a full brother to stakes placed filly Hotitude, who is back in training at Santa Anita and doing great.  He was foaled on 3/16/19 and is probably the best looking foal this mare has had.  We have high hopes for this guy!  Speed Demon is currently on pasture in New Mexico.
