Twilight’s Grey Goose (“Goose”) is a stunning 6-year-old ADCR registered blue roan draft cross mare standing an impressive 16.3 hands. Goose has been with us since she was a weanling—started slow, trained correctly, and developed with the kind of foundation that creates a truly special horse.
Goose is very well broke to ride with a soft mouth, an excellent handle, and a quiet, willing nature. In the arena, she is soft in the face, rides on a loose rein, and lopes around with a smooth, naturally collected way of going. She picks up both leads easily, transitions nicely, and is a pleasure to ride.
Outside the arena, Goose has been ridden extensively on the trail and handles new environments with confidence. She has been thoroughly desensitized to tarps, flags, jugs, balls, bullwhips, and a wide variety of real-world distractions. She is also started driving and shows excellent potential in harness, making her an outstanding ride-and-drive prospect.
Adding even more personality, Goose knows fun tricks including laying down and sitting on a bean bag.
Goose is extremely friendly and people-oriented. She is easy to catch, meets you at the gate, and gets along well in the pasture. She is a sweetheart to have around and is the kind of mare that forms a true bond with her person.
In 2024, Goose foaled a gorgeous blue roan Quarter Horse cross filly who tested homozygous black and roan—highlighting Goose’s value not only as a riding partner, but also as a broodmare prospect. Goose was panel tested prior to breeding and was negative on the full 6-panel.
Due to winter weather, Goose was turned out for the season, but she will be brought back in, legged up, and available this spring.
