Maverick is a striking 5-year-old brown and white gelding standing just under 15 hands, offering the perfect combination of eye-catching color, athletic ability, and a solid, well-rounded foundation. He is the kind of horse that stands out the moment you see him—sharp, stylish, and confident—yet still sensible and enjoyable to be around. Maverick has been ridden both English and Western and is also very well started to drive, making him a versatile prospect for a variety of programs and riders.
In the arena, Maverick is well broke and responsive, with a soft feel in the bridle and a willing attitude. He has a nice handle, works willingly off leg and rein, and is comfortable in his transitions. He is also broke enough to ride bridleless, showcasing the level of training and trust he has. He has been consistently ridden and exposed to real-life situations, not just arena work, which has helped him develop into a reliable and practical horse.
Outside the ring, Maverick has been trail ridden extensively throughout the summer and fall and has continued his education through the winter months with steady arena rides and plenty of driving miles on the road whenever weather allows. He is confident out in the open and handles traffic and everyday road activity with maturity, whether under saddle or in harness. This is a horse that has been brought along correctly with a strong emphasis on being safe, usable, and enjoyable in multiple settings.
Maverick has been ridden by beginners without issues, but due to his age and the fact that he is still maturing and progressing, we recommend him for an intermediate rider, or for a beginner who will remain in a consistent program with guidance. He is not mean in any way—just a young horse with talent and potential who will continue to thrive with a confident, steady rider.
To top it all off, Maverick is not only useful but fun—he knows tricks such as laying down and even sitting on a bean bag, making him a standout personality that truly becomes a superstar once you get to know him. He is up to date on deworming, vaccinations, farrier care, dental work, and has a current Coggins.
