Driving is where Mickey truly shines. He is exceptionally well broke to drive and has accumulated plenty of miles on both back roads and main roads. He is traffic safe, confident in new situations, and always ready to go to work. Mickey stands quietly to be harnessed, hitched, and unhitched and drives off easily without any fuss. He has the kind of solid foundation that makes him enjoyable for recreational driving while also possessing the quality, movement, and presence that could easily catch the attention of someone involved in the combined driving world.
Around the farm, Mickey is easy to live with. He is easy to catch in the pasture, gets along well in a herd setting, and has the kind disposition that makes daily handling enjoyable. He is the type that settles easily into a routine and is always happy to see his people.
Under saddle, Mickey rides well and offers another layer of versatility. He is not fully finished under saddle and is a more forward moving type than some of our beginner ponies, making him better suited for a rider who wants a project to finish under saddle. He is responsive, willing, and fun to ride. While he can carry his head a little higher when ridden in a bridle, he actually rides exceptionally well bridleless and shows the kind of training and responsiveness that many riders appreciate.
Adding even more fun to an already talented pony, Mickey knows all of the tricks. He will lay down on cue and has the kind of personality that enjoys interacting with people and learning new things.
