Marbles is a gorgeous 5-year-old leopard Appaloosa miniature gelding with jaw-dropping coloring and presence that turns heads everywhere he goes. He was sold to us as “dead broke” to ride and drive, but we’ve found that he’s only truly broke to drive—and even then, he’s best suited for an experienced adult. He has too much spark under saddle for the little kids here, so we’re not continuing his riding training, but a brave and confident kid or small adult could easily turn him into a fun little riding project with some time and patience.

 

Marbles drives well overall—he’s been down the roads and isn’t spooky—but he can still be a little green and needs someone who knows how to support a forward, sensitive pony. He’d make a fantastic summer or fall project for someone who wants to polish him into a top-tier cart pony or invest in a flashy resale project.

 

He is a bit watchy on the ground—not mean, no bite or kick—but he takes a little time to warm up. He can be tough to catch in the field, though he’s great in a stall and behaves well in a herd, even with large horses. He’d also make a fabulous companion pony or pasture ornament with his standout looks and easy herd behavior.

 

Marbles is current on everything: deworming, vaccines, dental (including wolf teeth pulled), farrier, microchipped, and has a current Coggins. We’re being fully transparent about what he is and isn’t, and we want him to go to a home that appreciates his potential and is ready to give him the time and love he deserves.  For an additional $500 we will keep him here for an additional 30 days and teach him how to lay down and sit.
